History of Agot's Bar and Restaurant
Mr. Maximo & Mrs. Gloria Pegenia started their business venture in August, 1977 upon the request of some local teachers from Balayan East & West Elementary School. It started as a small canteen which offered snacks mainly native frozen desserts such as Halo-Halo, Pancit palabok etc. Mr. Pegenia visualized in putting up a mini hotel in the near future thus they named the establishment “Agot’s Inn” after their only son Agot.
It became a hit that neighbors brought their visitors from out of town since it is the only food establishment present during that time. A few months later, not only snack items were being offered but native dishes as well which were available during lunch and dinner hours.
Instead of a hotel, Agot’s was renovated into a full blown restaurant which offered a variety of both native and international dishes. There were also entertainment during night hours which converted the restaurant into a bar.
The Pavilion was built in year 2000 which holds all occasions like weddings, christening or dedication, seminars, birthdays, corporate events and the like. They also hold caterings all over Batangas and Cavite and soon plan to extend their services in the Greater Manila Region.
At present, they added another venture which is Bake Shop and is being managed by Agot’s wife Catchie.
Agot’s Bar & Restaurant is on it’s 39th year in the food industry and is proud to be one of the toughest establishments in town despite competitors.
